Patti’s Ultimate Guide to Great Gifts Part 2

Okay it’s almost September and really time to get a leg up on holiday  shopping which you can do by checking out my annual gift guide entries.

For starters here’s one for every digital camera buff, it’s really nifty. Lets you print photos on the road, at home or wherever you are instantly. Works great–just tried it out. Anyhow it’s called the Polaroid PoGo–abbreviated or Polaroid-on-the-go–a  pocket-sized, inkless digital photo printer that produces full-color photos wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled cell phones and via PictBridge from digital cameras.

It was really amazed how easy it was to use with my Canpm PowerShotA530–I thought I was going to fumble and stumble, but just shot a photo, clicked on menu, clicked on print and voila a perfect picture came out. Your friends will love for it, of course you should probably get one for yourself while you’re at it.

Polaroid PoGo™ –    inkless digital photo printer that produces full-color photos wirelessly from cell phones and via PictBridge from digital cameras. The full-color digital photos are created without ink cartridges or ribbons using ZINK Photo Paper™, keeping the printer to about the size of a deck

Update on Little Black Dress Wines–dressed to drink

Okay I tried the little Black Dress Wines’ Chardonnay last night. It’s outstanding. We polished off the whole bottle. It’s smooth with a great nose of oak, apple and citrus and well, goes down easily, maybe a little too. Learned more about the company from their exceptional Public Relations person, Maggie who is based in Kentucky. Anyhow the parent company is Brown Forman–they also have Jack Daniels, Jeckle, Five Rivers, Sonoma Cutrere and other fine wines and spirits. Little Black Dress Wines were launched about a year and a half ago to appeal to discerning women. With a retail tab of only $9.99 they make perfect everyday drinking wines or great gifts. Available in Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Merlot (tasting the Merlot next). www.lbdwines.com

Little Black Dress Wines

Just got a couple bottles of wine with a twist. Cutest idea they’re called little Black dress wines from Hopland, California and come in Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Chardonnay (will be tasting the Chard tonight and let you know). Clever name for wines but also altruistic as the company does a celebrity dress auction of you guessed it, black dresses, to raise money for Clothes off Our Back Foundation (COOB). Lots of celebs participate such as Edie Falco, Elisabeth Hasslebeck, Teri Hatcher, Tina Fey, Marla
aples and others. Anyhow check it out at www.lbdwines.com and I’ll keep you posted on my tasting. Cheers

The Ultimate Guide to Great Gifts

Patti’s  Annual Holiday Guide To Nifty, Outside the Box Gift Ideas

The weather outside may be sizzling, especially if you live in the east, but it’s never too early to start shopping for Christmas and just thinking about Yule time can make you feel cooler. FYI:  most of these products come from ideas pitched to me by savvy public relations people who understand that this guide is about exciting, interesting gifts, outside the usual box type items (with a couple of exceptions). Anyhow, one company told me about a personalized baseball bat. Well being an avid Yankee fan and having hit a few balls in my time, I was very excited about it and ordered a bat. It came and dudes and dudettes, it’s soooooo cool. It’s a numbered 125 Louisville Slugger powerized bat with my full name on it along with a Yankee logo. I mean is this a great gift or what. Any baseball enthusiast on your list will love this, male or female, young or old. I’m going to take a photo of us and post it soon. It’s only $57 to $87 at www.sluggergifts.com. And for other sports fans: FantasyFootballSherpa.com  provides data-driven, customized advice to fantasy football enthusiasts where league participantsget the gift of winning in their leagues, earning bragging rights. $29.95 a www.FantasyFootballSherpa.com

Novel Photo Ops–well here’s a novel idea, the 5second slide&store frames designed for folks who love to line their walls with family and friends’ pictures. It’s pretty cool with a special pouch on the back where photos can be stored and then changed at various intervals–like when you break up with you partner LOL–or have a family feud LOL–or actually just want to look a different person or scenery. 5second frames hit the market in October 2008 so look for the product at major retailers or go on line to www.5second.com
