And it was all good….
Especially celebrating Cinco de Mayo, got sombreros, too….
My husband, Richard surprised me with a birthday visit to Morongo Resort & Casino in March. We enjoyed our two-night fling so much we recently returned this Desert Oasis for Cinco de Mayo.
This time we dined at the hotel’s Cielo–a penthouse restaurant offering awesome views of the surrounding mountains and softy lit by gorgeous chandeliers that change colors almost on cue with your mood. Our yummy meal began with ahi tuna presented beautifully and tasty and moved along to an exceptional Chilean seabass with a lobster salad, and Porterhouse steak cooked just right, bottle of so-so wine (the prices were a bit high for our budget so opted for a $38 bottle, about the cheapest on the list that was just okay). We skipped dessert because we gave at the earlier Potrero Canyon Buffet buffet (a really fantastic deal folks, lots of fine food from breakfast choices to Asian and pizza and awesome desserts). The all-you-can eat affair is less than $15 a person and really good quality. In fact Morongo’s breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet is among the best for any hotel casino we’ve ever visited. And this from a dining diva, too.
